General Info:
The Dummy Demolition Derby is back under the lights on Golden Peak at 5 p.m. on Dec. 9. Dummy Demolition Derby is a sport of sorts, where teams of one to three people construct snow-riding dummies attached to a pair of skis or a snowboard and launch the handmade contraptions off a giant on-snow jump and over a massive flame thrower. The winning team will take home $3,000 with with $1,500 and $500 going to the second and third place teams, respectively. Registration is $100 and limited to 20 teams, so don’t wait!
Again in 2010, the competition will offer a full sensory experience for spectators including fireworks, fire spinners, giveaways and music. All guests and spectators are also invited to enjoy a bowl of chili during the event compliments of Vail Resorts while supplies last.
Mix Master Mike of the Beastie Boys will take the stage at Rolling Stone Magazine’s Club Vail Street Party in Vail Village immediately following Dummy Demolition Derby.
